* Flower Fairy 8 x 10 Fine Art Print – Original “Fairy of Forgiveness” Fantasy Design.* The original “Fairy of Forgiviness” design was fashioned entirely from pressed flower blossoms and greenery grown in my own enchanted gardens. This magical artwork began with planting the seeds, taking care of the flowers as they grew and then picking and pressing the petals to lovingly create each fairy. I call this unique art form “Petal Painting” and am excited to offer many of my original pressed flower artwork in these beautiful affordable giclee prints. A variety of pressed purple cosmos, soap wort, and columbine fronds were used to create this faerie’s pretty purple dress. Snow-on-the-mountain and soap wort were fashioned to make her delicate fairy wings and the tiny flower garland in her hair was created from brown-eyed-Susan petals. Her skin and body were made from pressed cream columbine blossoms with rabbit brush and blue flax stems accenting the picture.It is fun to imagine that Fairies are everywhere and come in all shapes and sizes from the Tooth Fairy to Fairy God Mothers. Fairies can help us believe in magic and brighten up our day with a sprinkle of fairy dust. Fern Print; pressed botanical pressed plant pressed fern botanical print herbarium specimen art scientific art dried plant with roots art 41 This is a print of my original fern herbarium specimen (pressed botanical) artwork. It was made from a high-resolution scan of the original and is printed on natural-colored, archival-quality, heavy-weight cardstock. It is available with or without a dark background. The plant is western swordfern (Polystichum munitum) and was found in its natural habitat in Oregon. It was collected by a trained, degreed professional (see my personal profile). A complete collection label is included in the standard location at the bottom right corner of the front of the specimen adding to its scientific appeal. This is one of my favorite pressed ferns! It features all the major parts of the plant from fronds to roots. Look closely at the 3rd picture – the little brown dots are called “sori” and produce “spores” (sort of like little fern seeds). You can even see a couple rolled up fiddle heads at the base of its fronds. OPTIONS: ========== The original specimen was 11×14, but this is also available in 8×10 and 5×7. This is also available with a dark background! In order to preserve the original colors of the plant, the dark background has been digitally added prior to printing.
