This post is brought to you by Happy Crafters. Hello! Happy Friday! Have you had a good week? I hope so. 🙂 I am so excited for spring to be here! I can’t wait! 🙂 Even though it is still a little bit cold (It snowed this week!) I wanted to bring some spring into our home. These Bloom Spring Blocks were just the pop of color & happy that I needed. So keep reading to see how easy these were to make with my Silhouette & some fun vinyl from Happy Crafters. I’ll also show you how to layer vinyl. It’s easy! So let’s get started! 🙂 You’ll need a few supplies to get started: wood blocks* sandpaper white paint brush washi tape paper circle punch ribbon vinyl (geyser blue, beige, dahlia red, pastel orange, white & olive) this image from the Silhouette online store *For my wood I just used some scrap blocks that I found in my craft stash. The smaller blocks were just 2x4s cut into blocks & the bigger block was a 2×6 cut into a block. You can make these as big or small as you need to, & then size the vinyl as needed in your Silhouette software. 🙂 I sanded & painted all my blocks & let them dry really well. Then I applied my vinyl. For my “bloom†block I layered my vinyl to get all the different colors. It’s super easy to do. First ~ you’ll apply the first layer of vinyl. (You can see a very detailed how to cut & weed vinyl tutorial right {HERE}.) Then I put the stem & the leaves on. Notice how I put my stems on first behind the leaves. Next I applied my flowers making sure they overlapped the stem just a little bit. Then I put on the centers of my flowers. I thought they needed something though! So I added a washi tape circle right over the vinyl. I just used some washi paper & a circle punch to make the circle. You could also use patterned vinyl. Next I tied a ribbon around my biggest block. I really love how they turned out. Now if we could just get the real flowers to bloom. 😉 Do you have any fun spring inspired projects in the works? I’d love to hear. Leave a comment below. 🙂 Thank you so much stopping by my blog! If this is your first time visiting I’d love to keep in touch. Don’t miss a post! Subscribe by email or bloglovin’.
