Traveling on a budget in 2020 can be the best and easiest decision of the year. With the travel tips, do’s and don’ts that I have learned along the way you’ll be on your next adventure in no time.I know the misconception that you have to go all out and save to spend a fortune on your trips. But the reality is you don’t! There are so many ways to cut costs without sacrificing your dream destinations and activities. Check out how you can travel on a budget in 2020.Cheaper Hotel DealsHotels are one of the more expensive costs to travel. If you can find cheaper lodging you’re able to use that savings on others things like eating out, activities, and experiences. My top 2 ways to save on hotels is Airbnb and Hostel World! Airbnb is a site where you can find homes, apartments, condos, etc for rent and have the entire place to yourself for a cheaper price than a hotel room. Hostel World is an app to stay in a hostel which you are reserving a bed to yourself. They rate the hostels so you can find the best one in the area! Don’t knock it til you try it believe me I was so wrong before I started staying in them. For more on ways to save on hotels check out the full post here.Knowing When To GoKnowing WHEN to travel is also a key in getting more for your money. If you travel during the off season that will save you loads of money! So save during those peak seasons, research your destinations off season and then book your adventure then. It sounds easier than you think. You won’t have the crowds, more accommodations to pick from and cheaper flights. With it being non peak season usually hotels, flights, and activities will be on discount to entice people to get out and travel at these times.Flights On A BudgetLike I said knowing when to go is everything but so is knowing when to buy. I use flight prediction apps and watch my destination dates/times to be able to buy at the right time. Flight prices vary from week to week/month so if you watch your flight these apps can give you the best outcome to save you money. My top 2 apps that I use are Skyscanner and Hopper. Both are able to watch trips and give you a notification when flight prices go up or down. I use both because they work to give me the best possible outcome and save me the most by looking at all of my options! You can use points to do things like upgrade flights, on hotels, car rentals, dinners, and so much more. When you sign up for one make sure that you do your research and find one that doesn’t have any international fees. My favorite card and one I personally use is Chase Sapphire Preferred. I chose this one because it’s recognized in just about every country all over the world, no foreign transaction fees, and didn’t have an annual fee until after the first year! This can be your best friend when you are trying to travel on a budget.
