A beautiful cream cable sweater with a fleck to it has been made up into this lagenlook style sweater. It is a wool mix with the softest thick grey cashemere I have seen and it compliments the texture of the cream cable very prettily. This upcycled sweater has a deep pocket with a felted navy anniseed flower on the pocket. A cashmere blue/grey/cream pattern trim on the hem pulls all the colours of this recycled jumper together. Sizing. 21.5 inches across and 35 inches long. This loose style sweater looks just as stylish on smaller to medium sizes but will also suit those of us with curves too. Many hours go into making these jumpers, from searching for the best quality recycled sweaters to patterning up the cut of the design My eternal thanks goes to Katwise in the US who has a shop on etsy, for her original inspiration. I try my utmost to add my own interpretation of her original idea and sometimes will utilise my love of textile art by adding wildlife art onto a jumper or hoodie. From time to time I also make cushions with wildlife themes which again entail hours of work. I am driven by the need to offer an eco friendly form of fashion which is both durable and stylish. Please either Dryclean or careful Handwash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent. Never Ever be tempted to put your jumper throught he tumbledryer because although I have already boiled it to take some of the shrink out and either fully or partially felt it, it could well damage it and you may shrink it further. Just give it a short spin and aly it out flat to dry away from strong sources of heat. I send your garment with a cedar wood anti moth ring and a pressing cloth plus a sheet of care instructions. Apart from that, Enjoy your garment. Xx Honeybee

DIY Butterfly Twist Tee.

16 DIY Clothes Boho tees ideas

Trash To Couture: DIY Butterfly Twist Tee. Supplies: Wide shirt/sleeveless 1 yard fabric. Pattern here Where we currently live it’s warm year round so summer DIYs are still on my mind… I love my diy twisted tee and wanted to do one that was horizontal. This effect is so simple and transforms your old tshirts into an interesting twist. You can get the pattern here and use your own fabric. Choose something like a light jersey. You will need to finish your edges 1/4in over so add a hem allowance to the pattern. I serged just the back edges with a rolled hem. I used a double needle for the arm hole edges and bottom front hem. I then finished the top, front collar with binding. DIY: If you used a shirt you will want a wide shirt that isn’t very long. I made the pattern, but you can easily do this by using a sleeveless shirt. Here is a really quick video of the twist… If you’re using the pattern connect the pieces together using tape. The letters, numbers, and notches should add up like a puzzle. You will need to cut both front and back on the fold. When printing out the pattern print actual size. Tip, use the selvage edge as the bottom hem. Mine had an interesting fringe detail I liked. Place the pattern on the fold and cut. I used my rotary cutter and clover mat. I added the seam allowance when I cut. This takes practice though. Do the same for the back. Cut a 1.5 inch strip x the length of the collar line for binding. Fold the strip in half right sides out and then pin along the collar line and sew them right sides together with an overlock machine. If you don’t have an overlock machine use the link below to do a machine binding. Press and use a double needle and top stitch the binding flat as shown here. For the back I used my overlock machine and did a rolled hem. you simple fold over the edge 1/4 inch and sew, then fold over again 1/4 inch and sew into place. Now twist the back piece over so the shoulders meet at the top. Place them right sides together and make sure to pin into place. Then sew side and shoulder seams. Finish the arm holes using a double needle. You can see my post on how to finish your edges professionally here. Front and back of a gold version I made. I used the selvaged edge for the hem because I liked the interesting fringe detail. I added sleeves to the stripe version. SaveSave

Dip Dye Flannel DIY

DIY Bleached Men’s Flannel Hat: Target, similar here; Flannel: Thrifted and DIY dip dyed (Tutorial below), you can find ready-made ones to purchase here; Pants: HM (and DIY distressed), similar here; Boots: Target, similar here So last night I was on Instagram, and someone posted a super cool dip dyed flannel shirt, and I REALLY wanted it. I browsed the website it was from and contemplated texting my husband to ask if I should get one. But I didn’t. If you all have followed me for any length of time, you will know that a lot of the stuff I wear is pretty inexpensive. I love fashion and the changing styles and would love to be able to have an endless supply of shopping funds. But, I don’t. So I’ve learned to look for deals and or wait til things go on clearance or sale unless I REALLY want it. Sooo fast forward a few hours, and I was at the Goodwill and saw this flannel. Initially I was eyeing it actually just as a regular old flannel. I decided not to purchase it and actually left the Goodwill to go home. Then alllll of the sudden, I was like, “Wait. I can MAKE a dip dyed flannel.” I’m not sure why it didn’t occur to me sooner! I literally turned my car around and went back to the Goodwill and got the flannel. I could not get home soon enough to make it. I didn’t even Google how to do it. (I also don’t like following recipes. I like to figure it out myself. рџ?› ) I could hardly stand waiting for it to get bleached! I stayed up too late so I could finish it completely, and I’m obsessed with how it came out! The cool part is the every flannel will come out differently so if you make one, it will be super unique! Below is a little tutorial! I will do my best to explain it but let me know if you have any questions! And I apologize for the photo quality. It was dark in my house, and some of the photos were on my phone only. Dip Dye Flannel DIY: 1). Get a flannel or plaid shirt (or use one you have); I got mine in the boys section at Goodwill for $6 2) Tie a rubberband or hair tie around the middle of the shirt, sleeves included. You can move the rubber band higher or lower depending upon how much of the shirt you want to be bleached! 3) Get a bucket, and fill it with water. Add bleach. I did a ratio of about 3:1 of water to bleach. I just used bleach I already had at home and thus didn’t have a full container of it so I diluted it with water so that I could have enough water in the bucket to submerge the shirt. If you have more bleach, use more! It will just speed up the process. 4) Submerge the shirt in the water/bleach up to the rubberband line, and let it soak. It does not have to be exactly at the line, just close! The vintage look that we are going for allows for the process to not be perfect! Let it soak for 1-2 hours. (My shirt started out darker so it took longer. The amount of bleach you use and the color of the shirt may shorten the soaking time!) 5) Once the shirt has reach the desired color, remove the rubberband, and rinse the shirt thoroughly in the sink to make sure all the bleach is out (so it doesn’t bleed on any other parts of the shirt). 6) Wash and dry the shirt. And VOILA! Happy DIY-ing! Tag me @mox_ie on Instagram if you make one. I can’t wait to see! DIY ruched maxi skirt.

16 DIY Clothes Boho tees ideas

DIY ruched maxi skirt. | Trash To Couture try this as a mid-length skirt and made a bit looser, so no fanny-hug! Supplies: 2 yards Organic Cotton Stretch Jersey here Jacquard Dye: follow instructions here Nothing says summer like a tie dyed maxi skirt, perfect for a swim cover up and comfortable as can be. It may still be cold but warm weather is on the way! What I love about this skirt is the flattering fit from the ruched split seam. The fabric I used is from Organic Cotton Plus. It has a nice stretch, soft texture, and isn’t see through. It’s made from 95% organic cotton so it dyes beautifully. Try their dyes options as well. I’ve used their indigo and Procion. Check out the full tutorial in the video below. DIY Split Seam Instructions I love the ruching this split seam gives to my maxi skirts. This technique is great for skirts, sides of shirts, sleeves, and more. For the maxi skirt, you will want the split seam to be 20 inches. So measure from the waist to 20 inches down and mark or pin. You will do the below technique for that 20 inches only. Begin by placing the side right sides together, fold over 1 inch on both sides. Iron flat. Open the ironed flap open and sew right sides together along the ironed line. open and iron them flat as such Sew as close to the edge as you can along both flaps. Make sure to sew even seams or it will look uneven on the front. Get a string long enough to fit the length X 2 of your project. Use a safety pin to glide through the openings of the seams you created. If you want it to tie at the top you will start at the top, if you want it to tie at the bottom, start at the bottom. Go one opening through the other. Scrunch as much as you’d like. Finishing the edges is entirely up to you. With knit you can simply leave the edges unhemmed. I prefer this method because then it doesn’t create waves when doing a conventional hem. A serger with a rolled hem is another great option if you have access to one.
