Garage Sale Iron Hand Towel Stand Repurposed Plant Stand

Garage Sale Hand Towel Stand Repurposed As A Plant Stand #repurpose #upcycle #garagesalefinds #metalpail #stencil I purchased this iron hand towel stand last summer at a garage sale for $1.25. I didn’t really know what to do with it right away, but I thought it had some upcycle/repurpose possibilities. (When you click on the bold Amazon, Old Sign Stencils or Dixie Belle Paint Company affiliate links you will be taken to the products I use for this project. If you order it does not change the price or service at all. As an Amazon Affiliate, Old Sign Stencils Affiliate or Dixie Belle Paint Affiliate, I earn from qualifying purchases.) The hand towel stand was heavy iron, mostly black, but had copper rub on accents in places. I didn’t want the copper accents, and I wanted to even out the black color, so I painted the stand with one coat of Fusion Mineral Paint in Coal Black. Fusion doesn’t need a topcoat. I didn’t distress the towel stand either. I picked up these two little metal pails at Hobby Lobby. They are priced $1.99, but they are often on sale at 50% off. I gave each of them a couple of coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Burlap. I then stenciled the circled leaves above onto each little pail with Fusion Mineral Paint in Coal Black. This stencil is part of a 3 pack of spring stencils available at Joann Fabrics. Then I wiped on a light coat of Dixie Belle Best Dang Wax in Clear with a paper towel. Once the wax was dry, I wiped the pails down with a dry paper towel to remove any excess and rub it into the paint. The little pail fit in the hole pretty well, and it won’t fall through thanks to the handle. The last step was to fill the pails with small potted faux plants! This was so EASY! Blooming faux plants or even real plants would work in the pails, however, I wouldn’t paint the inside of the pail if I was planning to fill it with dirt. All kinds of spring decor can be created with thrift shop/garage sale purchases. Thanks for visiting! Follow Me Get Posts Delivered by Email:

DIY Macrame Plant Hanger + Gold Plant Stand

DIY Macrame Plant Hanger Gold Plant Stand Remember the five-dollar plant stand I scored at a local Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore? I honestly had no idea what it was at first, but it had oodles of potential, so of course I scooped it up and took it home with me. Besides, I had pinned enough images of bohemian home decor to know that this strange object belonged in our future bungalow. There’s just something super laid back and chill about lots of plants scattered around the home… Even better if they’re hanging in a macram

Re-purposed Drawer Plant Stand

Repurposed Pedestal Plant Stand www.organizedclutter.net My plant stand started with this drawer purchased for $5 at a consignment shop. This white pedestal was purchased for $7.50 at an antique shop. (And already painted white.) This old drawer hardware was free. Then, I attached the drawer to the pedestal using four screws through the bottom of the drawer. The extra large pull was attached to the drawer front. I added a square of panning metal to the bottom of the drawer in case of moisture seepage through the flowerpot. Next I painted it all with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White. Then after distressing and waxing with clear wax, I had a new plant stand! Perfect for a house plant, like this prayer plant. Really easy, (no sawing) cute, and pretty inexpensive!

Repurposed Stool Into Plant Stand or Bedside Table

13 plants Stand repurposed ideas

Sanded the stool with fine sand paper, painted with Annie Sloan Pure White chalk paint, wound a lot of twine (approx 50m!) round the “struts” to make two shelves (If you are doing this I advise you wear gives as I ended up with blisters from pulling the twine so tight), Waxed the painted areas with AS soft wax. Currently used as a plant stand but could also be a bedside table?
