Another aspect of Avatar I loved, the women outnumbered the men 2:1 (Azula, Mai, Ty Lee, Katara, Toph, Suki vs Aang, Sokka, Zuko) and they were all strong, smart, diverse individuals. Their beauty, or lack there of, wasn’t what was in focus. What was in focus was what they contributed to the group and the story.
